Somak’s path of creativity has been affirmed through multiple honours. Some of the awards and recognitions he holds are: Global Icon Award Zeitgeist Award of Excellence (for world music) Bharat Pratibha Samman Harvard Award / Harvard Recognition Brooklyn Award of Excellence Dadasaheb Phalke Award Also honoured with “Bravo World Record” for pioneering Raga Rock Fusion genre with his band Adbhutam. These awards span musical excellence, cross-cultural impact, and recognition from both domestic and international communities.

Current Work & Vision

For the past two years, Somak has been deeply engaged in a yet-to-be-revealed project on Healing Sound, a spiritual and scientific exploration of Universal Vibrations and Ancient Mantras. This work, still under wraps, reflects his belief in sound’s ability to go beyond entertainment-to touch, transform, and heal at the deepest levels of human consciousness. Somak is also directing music on three ambitious feature films by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar, further extending his presence in world cinema. As a musical mind, Somak also sees curation as part of creation: under his hands, content in any form can echo musical rhythms, foreground emerging voices, and build narratives that resonate with culture, not just trends. 13
